DIOGO BRAVO

Diogo Bravo, Portuguese artist and music producer, born in 88’, went to Switzerland at a very young age where he lived for 10 years before returning to Portugal, where he’s based now.
His first connection with music was through his uncles, since it was an usual habit for them to be listening to funky, jazz and soul records at home, it ended up becoming a huge influence in Bravo’s music, also a first contact with Rap was made as Alliance Ethnik being the foremost discovery to him.

Self taught since the beginning of his journey, never felt the need to be actually learning and acquiring both practice and theoretical inputs to perfect his craft while expressing his own ideas through music, it was by a researching process, through reading and from tutorials that he found the possibility to achieve new perspectives for the sound he was really looking for, and still is, being an extremely curious person was probably what took him to become such an enthusiast to his individual artistic development and identity.

Thus, after all these inputs generated a stronger will to master his craft, he gets a first contact with a producing software, a friend shows him FL Studio and again, his curiosity drives Diogo to a new world of mechanisms and functionalities, from there he started producing in an angry birds speaker and that’s how his first musical creations were made.

‘Dope’ was the first single released by the end of 2018, being a more mature sound and a portrait for the artist’s influences at the time. Energetic and groovy, his music transposes the presence of his background references by merging styles such as jazz and soul. You can hear and deduce that there’s a very specific taste for vocals in his songs, where he’s quite selective, manipulating vocals loosely, arranging them in his own way or using them as instruments became a characteristic of his production (by 2019, he collaborates with 11LIT3S in his single ‘Voodoo’).

Diogo Bravo’s vibrant form for expressing feelings and sensations translates into minimal, danceable and electronic approaches, therefore House becoming his entry ticket to the production world and being the main focus where he naturally manifests his state of mind transparently.
