CRATE DIGGS RELEASES NEW EP ‘SIMPLESMENTE LINDO’

Crate Diggs, Diogo Costa's alter ego, born and raised in Almada, Margem Sul, currently resides in Seixal, where he has been inspired as a producer since 2014, when he started as a 'sound digger' in the search for new sounds to be cultivated for the creation of its instrumentals.
Influenced by Hip Hop and R&B of the 90s, Crate Diggs presents himself in a light and simple way, framing himself in the most diverse production styles, with a simplistic and direct musical lexicon, demonstrates how his connection with the universe of sound is reflected in his works, from the most soulful cadences that line his beats to atmospheres paced by pulsations capable of slowing the heart rate, or we can even mention the skits that have been defining his creative language present in previous projects (as well as 'Simplesmente Lindo'), characteristics referred in order to reinforce his current artistic identity, acquiring more and more prominence and authenticity in the sphere of musical production, thus expressing these qualities in his new EP.

'Simplesmente Lindo' debuts on all digital platforms on 24th April through Slow Habits, announcing with this project the integration of Crate Diggs as a slow homie.
The EP contains 6 tracks produced and mixed by himself and also features the participation of DJ Rill (DJ, producer from Limassol, Cyprus) on the track 'Batucada' where he contributes with his skills for scratching on the Crate Diggs’ instrumental, improving its classic boom bap aesthetic with 'vocal cuts', breaks rhythmic patterns making the track more complete and unpredictable, thus ending 'Simplesmente Lindo' in a truly organic way, in charge of mastering the project we have Wake Up Sleep and the visual component highlighted by Phlowgraphy.
In the search for simplicity, the artist embarks on a journey of research through the most varied musical styles and genres, in a natural and gradual way he begins the process of selecting samples, while simultaneously establishing the sound of the project itself, crossing the phases of production and mixing, ultimately revealing his passion for diversity and spontaneity, starting from his base of exploration he looks for the 'perfect loop'.

Already with some beat tapes on his discography (as we can see on his bandcamp page), Crate Diggs reveals in his humble experience as a producer a gracious care in the relationship he has with his listeners, appealing to the sensitivity and predisposition to what he considers being 'pleasant to the ears', perhaps due to discoveries in his solo projects and in conjunction works with RakimBadu (forming SoulProviders) the experience increases and the producer certainly stands out for this aspect in his music, the clarity linked to the elegance, the simplicity as a source of harmony for his creations, it extends in the transparency of the title thus chosen, transposing as current sonic influences to which he connected during the creation of this EP, among almost 'drumless' beats whose aesthetic embellishes the meaning that something can be 'simply beautiful', perhaps because they are two words that reflect the scarcity of adjectives when there is no possible description for what causes such impression, more than the title of a work, defines itself as a strong inner expression that occupies the mental and physical space manifesting itself by simple movements in rhythmic synchrony, for such beings that vibrate to the sound of frequencies, this is the answer non-verbal that translates such feelings and sensations, be they of pleasure, ecstasy or trance, the triggering of these reactions comes from the basis of observation about the detail, as if it were an underlying skill, thus leading the artist to the realization and awareness of his true resource about imagination.
